China Brings In A Ban Of iPhones And Foreign Devices

The Chinese government has told its officials to not use iPhones and other foreign devices at workplace. The ban of non-China made devices were circulated by superior officers while reports said that the extent of the ban was not known, reported NDTV.

The order comes in ahead of an Apple event which is expected be about launching new products. The Business Today said that Apple would be launching four new phones which are iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max on September 12. The order of the Chinese government could be a  blockage to Apple, as China is Apple’s revenue generator, after the US. Chinese markets bring in one-fifth of Apple’s prospects.

For over many years, China has been trying to bring down its reliance on other countries technologies and has been trying to find its own back up in the issue. It has been encouraging domestic software and manufacturing. In the year 2020, Chinese leaders had brought up a growth model called ‘dual circulation’ to aid this purpose, in other words, to reduce reliance on foreign markets, NDTV said. This move is to the country’s concerns about security issues to data.

The US-China relations are now seen to be tardy, as China has restricted products from US’s Boeing and Micron Technology, a plane maker company and a chip company. Washington is also reciprocating by blocking necessary equipment needed for China’s chip making industries. Earlier, the US had banned Chinese Huawei technologies, smartphone maker and TikTok, a video platform.

These escalating tensions could turn the direction of global trade winds as it could bring down the trade volumes and bring up an urge to find newer markets.
