According to Al Jazeera, ten journalists revealed the inner workings of their newsrooms and accused senior figures of interfering with reporting to downplay Israeli atrocities on Saturday. The report said that many Journalists from CNN and BBC have come forward alleging pro-Israel bias in reporting on the Gaza conflict who cited double standards and disregard for journalistic principles in the newsroom.
A CNN journalist, Adam, said that the network’s coverage supported the Israeli narrative and they couldn’t call air strikes in Gaza without Israeli confirmation. “We wouldn’t tolerate this in any other place,” he said as quoted by Al Jazeera. He also expressed his disappointment for being helpless in many situations.

Another instance involved CNN’s Nic Robertson broadcasting false Israeli propaganda about Hamas using a hospital to hide captives. He claimed that the news was debunked by Arabic speakers on social media and a Palestinian producer alerted colleagues but was ignored by each one of them. Former BBC journalist Sara also accused the network of double standards in interviewing guests overwhelmingly vetting Palestinians and giving Israeli spokespeople “free rein” to make unchallenged claims.
Experts and veteran journalists especially from CNN and BBC have increasingly accused Western media outlets of pro-Israel bias and called out the act of dehumanising Palestinians, and minimising their suffering and some journalists have resigned from the organisations citing their consciences.
Craig Mokhiber, a UN human rights official, stated, “Western media have become part of the mechanism of genocide and that’s what’s frightening. However, the BBC and CNN have denied allegations of bias and said that the media organisations stand transparent and credible and haven’t played a biased role in the news linked to the Palentine-Israel conflicts or genocide.
