On the eve of Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territory since 1967, the Israel forces carried out more than 30 air raids across Beirut, and at least 24 Palestinians were killed and 93 injured after bombing a mosque and school in the region.

Israel, without providing any evidence of their claims, justifying the attack in Palestine stated that the schools were being used as Hamas “command and control” centres.

The targeted building were identified as the Al Aqsa Mosque and the Ibn Rushd School. The media office has confirmed that both were housing hundreds of displaced people.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese media has described Israel’s attack as “the most violent night” of attacks yet. However, Israel has said it had targeted Hezbollah weapons depots.

The Israeli occupation force in its post on X has said that its fighter jets carried out attacks throughout Beirut against a number of Hezbollah’s weapons warehouses and other infrastructure.

It said that it gave advance warnings to people in the area to minimize harm to civilians.

As per the Al Jazeera report, Hezbollah has lost its contact with one of its senior leaders, Hashem Safieddine who was seen as a possible successor to slain leader Hassan Nasrallah, since Friday after an airstrike on Beirut’s Dahiyeh neighbourhood, a Lebanese security sources said.

Meanwhile, the Israeli force has issued an evacuation order for large swaths of northern Gaza ordering the residents to flee to the already overcrowded “humanitarian zone” in al-Mawasi.

The evacuation was ordered claiming that Hamas has established “terrorist infrastructure in the region, exploiting the population, shelters and health facilities as a human shield”.

The Israeli military’s Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee said the Israeli military will “continue to operate forcefully against terrorist organisations”, without offering information about specific operations planned.

Adraee ordered people to use the “open humanitarian transportation and evacuation routes towards the humanitarian area in al-Mawasi, which are Rashid Street (the sea) and Salah El-Din Street”.
