Israeli military claimed that it killed senior Hezbollah leader Hashem Safieddine, who is perceived to be the successor of assassinated chief of the group, Hassan Nasrallah. On Thursday, the Israeli military said that Safieddine was the target on its attack in southern Beirut.
According to KAN, an Israeli broadcaster, Israel believes Safieddine was injured in Thursday’s strike, but details about his condition remain unknown. It was also reported that other top leaders of Hezbollah were present at the time of attack as they were in a meeting.
No official confirmation from Hezbollah was made on the matter.
Assassination of Nasrallah put the spotlight of Safieddine, who is widely regarded as the heir of Nasrallah. As a head of the executive council of Hezbollah, Safieddine oversees Hezbollah’s political affairs. He also sits on the Jihad Council, the group’s military operations.

Killing of Safieddine would be another major blow on Hezbollah, who lost its leader of 32 years.
Like every other major leaders of the region, and its resistance group, the US State Department has branded Safieddine as a terrorist in 2017.
Israel is continuing its intense bombing on Lebanon. It released more evacuation orders for the civilians. Reportedly, most of the killed in Lebanon are civilians with majority of women and children.
Israel is repeating its pattern in Gaza. terrorising the civilians with relentless bombing and evacuation orders amidst it. The Israeli Occupation Force (IOF) is also bombing hospitals in Lebanon. At least four hospitals in the region announced suspension of work due to the relentless bombing.

World Health Organisation (WHO) said over 28 health workers in Lebanon were killed in the last 24 hours.
The death toll is Lebanon and Gaza is rapidly increasing. In Gaza, the over one years of barbaric war killed more than 42,000 innocent civilians. Within the span of only two weeks, Israel has killed nearly 2000 Lebanese. More than 1.2 million people have been displaced form Lebanon. Tens of thousands are displaced under Israeli evacuation orders in almost 100 towns and villages near the border.
