In a major development, the Islamabad High Court in Pakistan today suspended former Prime Minister Imran Khan”s conviction and sentence in a corruption case. The court has also ordered the release of the cricketer turned politician from jail.
This comes as a major relief for the embattled Khan, also the leader for PTI, months before the national elections.
The court squashed Khan”s conviction and three-year sentence in the Toshakhana corruption case.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri delivered the verdict.
