“I Pledge My Full Support…” Ocasio-Cortez Endorses Kamala Harris On Her X Post

Joe Biden on Sunday was dropped out of the US Presidential election and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris  as the Democratic Party’s new nominee.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the New York Congresswoman, who had earlier endorsed Joe Biden through Instagram live has now pledged her full support to Kamala Harris. Posting on X, Alexendria wrote, “Kamala Harris will be the next President of the United States. I pledge my full support to ensure her victory in November”.

She further stated in her post that it is crucial for their party and country to unite to “defeat Donald Trump and the threat to American democracy.”

Last week, the Democratic Rep. had shared her thought on the mounting calls against Biden to remove himself from the race, and wanting Vice-President Kamala Harris to take over the position, Ocasio-Coretez said, “you would be mistaken”.

She said “If you think that there is consensus among the people who want Joe Biden to leave…that they will support Vice President Harris, you would be mistaken”

Announcing his decision to discontinue from the electoral run, Joe Biden said on Sunday, “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term”.

As per reports, Trump has gained a lead in key states, especially after the recent assassination attempt on the the Republican leader.

The Detroit Free Press’s recent poll revealed that Trump is leading by 7 points in Michigan, with 49 percent support to Biden’s 42 percent. Including third-party candidates, Trump holds 43 percent support, while Biden has 36 percent and independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. takes 8 percent.
