Washington D.C., US: Following his announcement of ceasefire between Israel and Iran, US President Donald Trump takes credit for it, stating that both countries came to him to ensure peace. In this new post on his social media handle Truth Social he said that Israel and Iran came to him for peace and they will see “tremendous LOVE, PEACE, AND PROSPERITY in their futures.”
He further adds that Israel and Iran would lose if they stray from the path. “They have so much to gain, and yet, so much to lose if they stray from the road of RIGHTEOUSNESS & TRUTH. The future for Israel & Iran is UNLIMITED, & filled with great PROMISE. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH!,” Trump said in the post.

Earlier in his post, Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a “complete and total ceasefire” amidst heightened tensions following Iran’s missile attack on a US military base in Qatar and US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. The 24-hour phased-in ceasefire would go into effect in stages Tuesday, putting an “Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR,” he adds.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote in a post X that no agreement on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations has been reached as of now. “However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards,” he added.
Despite Trump’s announcement, neither Israel nor Iran has officially confirmed any ceasefire, and heavy Israeli strikes continued in Tehran and other cities early Tuesday.
