Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Akram Khan Ghazi was reportedly gunned down by unidentified men in Pakistan. The Times of India reported that the incident happened in Pakistan“s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was shot by unidentified bike-borne assailants. Akram Khan was one of the key recruiters for Lashkar between 2018 and 2020.
Akram Khan, also known by the name Akram Gazi, was known for delivering anti-India speeches in Pakistan. The report also says that he was responsible for radicalising terrorists who infiltrated into the Kashmir Valley over the last two years. TOI reported that the Pakistani agencies working on this murder case are investigating the role of local rivals as well as in-fighting within Lashkar.
Akram Khan”s killing is the third assassination of a key Lashkar operative in recent days. On November 5, Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorist Khwaja Shahid was found beheaded near the Line of Control in the Athmuqam sector of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The circumstances surrounding his killing remain unclear, and no group has claimed responsibility for the act yet.
In September, a terrorist named Riyaz Ahmad was shot dead by unidentified gunmen inside a mosque in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Riyaz Ahmad, alias Abu Qasim, a top commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba, was one of the main conspirators of the January 2023 Dhangri terror attack. In May, Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) chief Paramjit Singh Panjwar was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen in Pakistan”s Lahore. Paramjit Singh Panjwar, who joined the KCF in 1986, had been operating from Pakistan and was involved in arranging weapon training for youths in Pakistan.
