Six Gunmen Attacked Training Base Of Pakistan Air Force

Six gunmen attacked Pakistan’s air force training base. The incident occurred at Mianwali area of Punjab, near to the central Pakistan. According to reports, three of the gunmen were killed before entering to the base and other three were cornered. The Mianwali air base is considered to be the major base of the country.

The Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) of the country later said that three gunmen were killed and other three were cornered with the aid of “timely” and “effective” intervention of troops. Three fuel tankers and aircraft was damaged during the attack. The statement released by ISPR said, the terrorist attack has been “foiled and thwarted” due to the “swift and effective” intervention of the troops and was able to ensure the “safety and security of personnel and assets”.

Pakistan based militant group, Tehreek-e-Jihad (TTP) claimed responsibility of the attack, said Pakistani military. Last week, terrorists has attacked security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Intense firing was exchanged in the area of Tihar of Khyber district. An Intelligence-Based Operation  (IBO) was launched in the area. One terrorist was killed and two other detained, as per report.

In another incident, two Improvised Explosive Devices were detonated in the South Waziristan district and two soldiers were killed.

The terrorist attacks in Pakistan has seen huge surge in this year. In September, a suicide explosion struck a mosque in Pakistan’s troubled Balochistan province on Friday, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 52 lives and leaving over 50 individuals wounded.

Shahid Latif, India’s most wanted terrorist, was gunned down in Pakistan’s Sialkot by an unknown assailant last. Shahid Latif is the key conspirator in the 2016 Pathankot terror attack, in which seven security personnel were killed.
