“Not True”: US Police Dismiss Reports Of Gangster Goldy Brar’s Murder

Edited by Timeline News Desk

The California Police have clarified that gangster Goldy Brar wasn’t killed in a shootout after a storm of speculation erupted across social media platforms on Wednesday. Brar, the prime accused in the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala and attacks on actor Salman Khan, was reported to have been killed in a shootout. However, these reports have been debunked by law enforcement authorities.

Rumours surfaced on Wednesday morning, rapidly spreading across various news outlets and social media channels. Videos of a shootout soon went viral, intensifying the frenzy. Subsequent investigations revealed that these videos were unrelated to the alleged incident in California.

According to these reports, Goldy Brar, along with associates of fellow gangsters Pavit Singh and Jaggoo Bhagnapuria, had a fight at a club in Fresno, California. During the scuffle, both sides fired shots and Brar was reportedly killed. Gangster Arsh Dalla purportedly claimed responsibility for the murder.

Reports also emerged of a separate shooting incident in Fresno, where two individuals were shot and hospitalised in critical condition. However, the identities of the victims weren’t disclosed by local authorities.

Lieutenant William J Dooley of the Fresno Police Department later clarified that the victim of the shooting incident was not Goldy Brar, refuting online claims. “If you are inquiring because of the online chatter claiming that the shooting victim is ‘Goldy Brar’, we can confirm that this is absolutely not true,” Dooley told the media.

Security agencies in India too said that they had no information regarding Goldy Brar’s death.

Brar was declared a terrorist after the murder of Moosewala. Union Home Ministry had said that Satwinder Singh alias Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar was related to the Babbar Khalsa terrorist organisation.

Initially, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for Moosewala’s murder. However, Brar later confessed to the crime during a televised interview, where he talked about Moosewala’s alleged involvement in the killing of Lawrence’s associate, Vicky Midukhera, as the motivation behind his actions.

Brar purportedly admitted to planning the murder and allegedly dispatched six gunmen from Haryana and Punjab to carry out the plan.

Last year, Brar declared that his next target is Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Rapper Honey Singh had also received a death threat voice note from Brar.

Born in 1994 in Muktsar Sahib, Punjab, Brar belonged to a family of policemen. After earning a BA degree, he eventually settled in Canada, where he operated remotely, with a particular focus on activities in Punjab.

Gurlal Brar, Goldy Brar’s cousin, was killed outside a Chandigarh nightclub last year. Bishnoi’s gang is said to have targeted Gurlal to avenge the death of Youth Congress leader Gurlal Pahalwan.
