Protestors in Bangladesh has barged in Sheikh Hasina’s residence, making themselves comfortable on the PM’s bed. The protestors were seen taking the minister’s residence upside down.

Several protestors have also vandalised the residence of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan in Dhanmondi. As Per Dhaka Tribune, thousands of protesters broke into the house through the entrance. Smoke was seen coming inside the house. Videos emerged on social media platforms showed people taking selfies, and stealing things from the house. One was seen with platters and glasses, while another one was seen relaxing on the bed in the house.

According to local media, over 400,000 protesters were on the streets. However, it might be difficult to define the number of angry mob. The protestors also destroyed the statue Hasina’s father Mujbur Rahman, who was also known as the founding father of Bangladesh.

By the time the protestors went out of control, Hasina has fled the country, reportedly to India’s Delhi. Earlier reports suggested that she was flying to Agartala. Agartala denied any helicopter landing on its territory.

Indian security agencies are monitoring a C-130 aircraft with call sign AJAX1431 since 10 kms from Indian border with Bangladesh and it is heading towards Delhi. It is believed that Sheikh Hasina and some members of her entourage are on this plane,” ANI quoted sources familiar with the matter.

After vandalising minister’s house, the protesters also set fire to the Awami League Dhaka District Office. According to Prothom Alo, the fire was set at around 4:00 pm local time on Monday. At the time, the fire spread to a nearby gas cylinder shop. Though soldiers and police tried to protect the office with armoured vehicles, and barricades, the vast crown flooded the streets, tearing down the barriers.
