Vladimir Putin claimed that Russia is significantly progressing towards its scientific endeavors of creating vaccines for cancer. During a televised address, the Russian President said that Moscow has reached a “significant milestone in the developments of cancer vaccines and next-generation immunomodulatory drugs”. He made the claim while speaking at Moscow forum, which is focused on emerging technologies.

Putin further expressed hope that the advancement in the vaccine would swiftly transition into effective methods of individualized therapy. He did not provide any specifics regarding the mechanisms of actions or the targeted types of cancer. It is to be noted that several countries and entities are striving under similar researches. However, this is the first time a head of the state voicing such claims.

Last year, western media claimed that Putin was suffering from cancer and the 71-year-old Russian President’s health is deteriorating. A video went social media platforms which showed Putin being unable to control his twitching feet during his conversation with Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus.

Denying all the claims of the Putin’s cancer, Krelmlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said in October that, “I can tell you that he has no doubles, and with regards to work and so on, this is already an absurd informational hoax that is discussed by some media with vigorous tenacity. It makes nothing but smile”.

This is not the first time Russia is coming forward with vaccine. It has developed vaccine for the global pandemic, Covid 19, when world was caught in distress caused by the invisible villain. Sputnik V developed by Moscow has encouraged efficacy results when inoculated to the public. In a bid to assure people of the efficacy and safety, Putin said he himself had taken the vaccine. The vaccine was in high demand and was sold to a number of countries across the world.
