Following a CNN report quoting Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence regarding the alleged use of Starlink satellite communications by Russian forces in occupied areas, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk swiftly responded, categorically denying the claims.
In a statement issued on social media, Musk addressed the allegations, stating, “A number of false news reports claim that SpaceX is selling Starlink terminals to Russia. This is categorically false. To the best of our knowledge, no Starlinks have been sold directly or indirectly to Russia.”
The denial comes in the wake of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence revealing intercepted conversations indicating that Starlink terminals are allegedly being utilized to provide internet access to Russia’s 83rd Air Assault Brigade operating in the Donetsk region.
Musk’s assertion directly contradicts the claims made by Ukrainian intelligence, further deepening the controversy surrounding the reported use of Starlink technology by Russian forces.
