Thailand School Shooting: Student Shots Teacher Dead Before Killing Himself, Several Injured
Bangkok, Thailand: At least two people have been killed and several injured after a student opened fire at a school in Thailand on Friday morning, August 7. The inured includes four students, according to the reports.
The incident took place in Debsirin Nonthaburi School in the Bang Kruai district on the northwestern outskirts of Bangkok. The gunman student killed the teacher and then shot himself head. Authorities have not disclosed further detail regarding the incident.

As per the emergency responders, at least 15-20 people injured. Ambulances transported the injured to nearby hospitals as teachers evacuated students and staff from the campus. Authorities reportedly found dozens of rounds of ammunition in the gunman student’s bag.
The incident has sparked safety concerns among the students, teachers and parents. Gun laws are strict in Thailand where possession of an illegal firearm carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years. However, gun ownership is high compared with some other countries in the region.
Though the authorities have enhanced laws after recent mass shooting incidents, including requirement for a medical evaluation for those who want to buy a gun or renew their gun license, such incidents calls for further monitoring.
