Republican candidate and former US President Donald Trump said he is going to make Israel great again. Speaking at length about Israel during an event hosted by campaign, Trump also added that he is the “most popular person in Israel”, and “could run for Prime Minister”.

He said the “best thing” he has done for Israel was terminating the Iran nuclear deal. Trump said the 2015 agreement was “the worst deal ever made for Israel”. “I believe that Israel will be wiped off the face of the earth if I don’t win,” Trump added.

Speaking at the Israeli-American Council National Summit Trump said his Evangelical Christian supporters “love Israel”. “You have Christians and Evangelical Christians. They love Israel so much, and it’s great to see that”, he said. He further added that, “I hate to say it, sometimes they love Israel much more than Jewish people in New York love Israel”.

Trump, who is slightly behind the Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, is often at the receiving end of criticism for blabbering falsehoods.

Trump said if he does not win the election, “the Jewish people would have a lot to do with a loss”. He blamed the Jewish Americans for “voting for the enemy” for the hypothetical destruction of Israel that he insisted would happen if he lost in the Presidential race.

Pointing at October 7th Hamas attack on Israel, Trump said Israel “Will cease to exist” within few years if he does not win the election.

“With all I have done for Israel, I received only 24 percent of the Jewish vote…I really haven’t been treated very well, but it’s the story of my life”, the former president said during a campaign event addressing prominent Republican Jews.

During his speech, Trump said that during the past 15 years, “if you said something about a Jewish person or something about Israel that was bad, you were out of politics”. The Republican has been repeatedly criticized for remarks that have either attacked Jewish Democrats, or for drawing antisemitic remarks.

While he was the President, Trump accused American Jews who did not vote for him as “disloyal”. He said Kamala Harris “hates Israel”.

He portrayed himself to Jews as “your defender, your protector,” and “the best friend Jewish Americans have ever had in the White House.” “I’m the one that’s protecting you,” Trump said near the end of his speech. He also added that the Democrats “are the people that are going to destroy you.”
