US To Strike Iran? Trump Yet To Take Final Call

Tensions are rising in the Middle East after reports claimed that the United States is prepared to launch a possible military strike on Iran as early as this weekend. However, President Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision.

According to reports by CNN and CBS, the US military has informed the White House that it is fully prepared if an order is given. Sources say Trump is still discussing the matter with his advisers and weighing the pros and cons of military action.

The US has significantly increased its military presence in the region.

Reports say Washington currently has 13 warships in the Middle East, including the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, along with destroyers and other combat ships.

Another aircraft carrier, USS Gerald R. Ford, is also heading toward the Middle East. Fighter jets such as F-22 Raptors, F-15s, and F-16s have also been deployed, along with refuelling aircraft to support long missions.

Having two US aircraft carriers in the region at the same time is considered rare and signals serious military readiness.

The biggest issue remains the long-running nuclear dispute. Trump withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018 during his first term and has since pushed for a new agreement.

Iran is led by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, whose government has strongly opposed US pressure.

The Iranian leadership has faced protests at home and increasing international sanctions. Experts say the perceived weakening of Khamenei’s regime, along with failed nuclear negotiations, could influence Washington’s next move.

Talks between the two countries have continued, but both sides are reportedly still far apart on key issues.

White House officials have said there are “many reasons” to consider a strike if talks fail. At the same time, Trump has also expressed interest in reaching a new agreement instead of going to war.
