US Vice President Kamala Harris Claps To Protest Song, Stops After Knowing The Meaning

Vice President of America, Kamala Harris found herself in a rather embarassing situation on her visit to US colony Puerto Rico, when she was welcomed with a song. She started to clap to the song, only for it to be a protest song aligning with Palestinian cause.

Harris visited the colony as a part of a whirlwind trip to tout federal aid the colony has received after a deadly hurricane. She attended a Democratic fundraiser.

Reportedly, the song asked Kamala Harris on what is she doing there and what does she think about the people of the colony.

As per Spanish journalist Istra Pachico, the protest song translate to,

“We want to know, Kamala
What did you come here for?
We want to know, Kamala
We want to see
If you”re going to talk about law 60
Or about the Fiscal Control Board

The vice-president is here
Making history
We want to know
What she thinks of the colony

We will keep playing
The plena of our country
Long live Free Palestine
and Haiti too!”

Social media was flooded with scrutiny over Kamala Harris. Many X (formerly twitter) users said the Vice President deserves the humiliation. Many others said that the island deserve a star on its flag.

At first, the US Vice President started to clap to the tune of the song. During the rough five hour visit, Harris was accompanied by U S Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and Housing and Urban Development Deputy Secretary Adrianne Todman.

The Island was destroyed largely by Hurricane Maria, happened on September 2017. Over 3000 people were killed in the category 4 storm.
