Are Billions Of Barrels Of Oil Reserve The Real Reason For US Attack On Venezuela, Capturing Of Its President?
Washington DC, United States: The US overnight attack on Venezuela has jolted the South-American nation while killing over 40, including civilians on Sunday, January 3. Shortly after the attack, US President Donald Trump said United States forces had captured its president, Nicolás Maduro, taking him out of Venezuela in a joint operation with US law enforcement agencies.
Despite the US military buildup and animosity around Venezuela, an American raid on Caracas to capture President Nicolás Maduro and his wife was not expected at that time. The world leaders have reacted to the development with shock, outrage, and skepticism, particularly concerned by US gunboat diplomacy.

Latin American leaders have expressed anger over the abduction of the Venezuelan leader, given that they are also the ones who are more on the left and who have struggled with President Trump and his trade, tariff and other policies in the region. Despite Russia’s own invasion of sovereign Ukraine nearly four years ago, it condemned the US attack on Venezuela. Many suggested that Mr. Trump was simply after Venezuela’s large oil deposits.
However, it is claimed that the US attack on the Latin American country was due to the troubles with migration, drugs, and “narco-terrorism.” The US president has repeatedly linked Venezuela to the arrival of hundreds of thousands of migrants at the US southern border.

Trump has accused Maduro of “emptying his prisons and insane asylums” and “forcing” inmates to migrate to the United States, without presenting evidence. However, Venezula has long categorically rejected such allegations.
