The Vantage Roadster makeover was unveiled by Aston Martin less than a year after the British company debuted the Vantage Coupe. The new convertible is anticipated to make its debut in India this year and is similar to the coupe in many ways, including its features list, style, and V8 engine from Mercedes-AMG.
The modified twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that powers the new Roadster produces 665 horsepower and 800 Nm, which is much more power than its 512 horsepower predecessor. It is designed to be a more dynamic, driver-focused vehicle. With its increased horsepower, the revised Vantage Roadster outperforms competitors like the Ferrari Roma Spider and Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet, putting it closer to the Maserati MC20 Cielo.

The rigidity-bolstering modifications and the assembly that powers the convertible roof cause the Roadster to weigh around 60 kg more than the Vantage Coupe, which results in a somewhat slower acceleration. The Roadster’s claimed 0-96 kph time of 3.5 seconds is 0.1 seconds slower than the Coupe’s. But according to the brand, both have the same peak speed of 325 kph.An 8-speed automatic transmission transfers power to the back wheels; it is said to have calibrated and modified ratios to produce “punchier” in-gear acceleration and faster gear changes.
The aluminum chassis has been reinforced to enhance driving dynamics, according to Aston Martin, and efforts have been made to preserve a weight balance of 49:51 (front to rear); the Coupe has a 50:50 weight distribution. As previously, multi-link is used at the back and double wishbones are used in the front for suspension. The facelift’s rear end is up to 29% stiffer under load, according to the firm, which improves handling and driver input. Additionally, it is claimed that responsiveness would be improved with newly customized Bilstein DRX adaptive dampers. Custom-made Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires are fitted to the standard 21-inch alloy wheels, and either steel or carbon-ceramic brakes are available.

The new convertible, according to Aston Martin, features the fastest-folding top available right now. The fabric top may be used at up to 50 kph on the road and opens or closes in only 6.8 seconds. In contrast, it takes 13.5 seconds to raise or close the roof of the Ferrari Roma Spider.
A 30mm increase in breadth and a redesigned front end, particularly with a bigger grille, distinguish the new car from its predecessor. It resembles the Coupe almost exactly, with the exception of the convertible body type. Its inside is identical to that of the Vantage Coupe, which is completely new and up to date. Wireless smartphone mirroring, a new 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and a variety of buttons, switches, and dials for the most-used functions. The features list, from the suite of ADAS features to the optional Bowers & Wilkins surround audio system, is shared between the Coupe and the Roadster.
