When the venerable British motorbike was purchased by Classic Legends in 2020, BSA Motorcycles had a new lease on life. The firm, which is owned by Mahindra, debuted the Goldstar 650, its first motorcycle, in late 2021. The B65, the second model in the range, has now been released by BSA. Last weekend at the Birmingham Motorcycle Live Show, the B65, which is basically a Goldstar scrambler variant, made its first public appearance. Just a few weeks prior, at the just-concluded EICMA 2024, Royal Enfield unveiled the Bear 650, their own 650cc scrambler based on the Interceptor. However, as the prototype displayed at the expo lacked certain essential manufacturing components, this is currently only at the idea stage.
The design language
With features like a front beak, a thinner grab rail, a flat bench seat, and short mudguards, the B65 initially appears to be a standard middleweight scrambler. It also has a headlamp grille, which is probably going to be available as an add-on. Racing number plates in the scrambler type are shown on the side panels. For athletic looks, the bike is wrapped in two-tone colour schemes, while the mechanical part is painted completely black.

Features and specifications
Additionally, a new aluminum-coated upswept exhaust muffler is available. The wire-spoked wheels add to its vintage look. In terms of utility, the B65 is equipped with a cross brace and a higher handlebar. While the main frame is identical to the Goldstar, the B65 gets a new sub-frame. The biggest difference between the Goldstar and the B65 is 19-inch front and 17-inch wire spoke wheels shod with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR rubber employed in the latter.
A single 320mm floating disc with a Brembo twin-piston floating calliper and a single 255mm disc with a Brembo single-piston floating calliper in the back will perform braking duties in conjunction with dual-channel ABS. While the B65 has a 12-liter gasoline tank, it weights 218 kg at the curb. The seat height is still 820 mm, which is over 40 mm higher than the Gold Star 650. Ground clearance isn’t mentioned, though.

A circular digital instrument cluster and LED headlights and taillights are among the highlights of the B65. For improved off-road grip, we also anticipate that BSA will have switchable rear ABS. The BSA B65 is powered by the same 652cc, DOHC, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine that produces 45 horsepower at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 55 Nm at 4000 rpm. This motor has a slip and assist clutch that connects it to a 5-speed gearbox. Early in 2025, the B65 is anticipated to make its debut in the UK. BSA is anticipated to introduce this bike to India at some point in the upcoming year.
