Automobile enthusiasts are looking forward to the launch of the Suzuki eVX. The electric SUV was introduced as a concept at the 2023 Auto Expo and as a nearly production-ready model during the Bharat Mobility Expo. The production-spec Maruti Suzuki eVX is set to make its global debut in January 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, which is scheduled to take place from January 17–22.
With the launch set for Milan first, it is now ready to make its debut on Indian shores for the first time as a fully production-ready version. Though the automaker hasn’t confirmed anything, the electric model is expected to hit the streets in the first quarter of 2025.

The eVX interior is set to get twin-screen setup, with two battery options expected. Some design elements, like the silver alloy wheels and the SUV-coupe-like body with wide haunches, which lend it a squat stance, seem to continue. Suzuki also had earlier showcased the eVX concept’s interior at the Japan Mobility Show. The EV SUV sports a large infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster, along with vertical AC vents and a new flat-bottom steering wheel. The Maruti eVX, once launched, will rival the Hyundai Creta EV and higher variants of the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
Toyota will also have its own version of the eVX coming to the Indian market, likely in 2025, while the Maruti eVX and its Toyota sibling will be built at Suzuki’s Gujarat plant for both export and the domestic market. This plant is set to manufacture over 1.25 lakh vehicles annually and will be manufacturing SUVs built on a derivative of Toyota’s 40PL electric skateboard architecture.
The platform, which is internally codenamed 27PL, is being heavily localised.

Maruti’s parent company Suzuki Motor Corporation had filed trademarks in India for two new names—Escudo and Torqnado—which could be used on two of the eight new models that Maruti Suzuki has planned for an India launch over the next four years.
Some of the new generation models will carry existing nameplates like the Swift and the Dzire, while the production version of the first EV is likely to carry its concept name, the eVX
