A significant development is that Mercedes-Benz has recalled four cars in India. As to the recall webpage of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the German brand has recalled the GLC, SL55, S-Class, and EQS sedans. Thirty units are impacted by the most recent recall, which was issued on June 18, 2025.

The main justification for this measure is fire dangers, according to all four models. Mercedes-Benz has recently been recalling a lot of cars in India. Six recalls have already been issued this year by the luxury automaker. According to reports, Mercedes has recalled almost 93,000 cars in the USA just this week.

Mercedes has found that some fuse boxes could not have been correctly renovated, according to the SIAM website. This can result in malfunctions in the fuse-related systems, which could cause the car to abruptly lose power. The instrument cluster and restraint systems may also be impacted, raising the possibility of an accident and injuries. In these situations, there is also a chance that the vehicle may experience a thermal event.

This problem affects 16 EQS sedans in total, as well as nine S-Class cars (including Maybach), three GLCs, and two AMG SLs. Mercedes should contact the owners of these cars to set up service appointments and perform the free repairs in accordance with usual protocol.

Mercedes recalled certain models earlier in March of this year because of a possible fire hazard that was brought on by intermittent overload of the high-voltage starter generator’s control unit. A software error in the ECU and a missing warning sign about the automated front passenger airbag deactivation were the causes of the remaining recalls. Mercedes has recalled 2812 units in India so far this year, with the E-Class accounting for 2543 of those recalls.

Due to fire concerns, Mercedes-Benz India has issued its sixth recall of the year, affecting 30 GLC, SL55, S-Class, and EQS automobiles. The problem is caused by incorrectly redesigned fuse boxes, which increase the possibility of heat mishaps, compromised safety systems, and propulsion loss. Mercedes is dealing with ongoing quality issues as 2,812 units—including 2,543 E-Class vehicles—have been recalled in India this year. Free repairs will be offered to owners, underscoring the brand’s continuous struggle to retain premium quality.
