Ola Electric, in a bid to accelerate its foray into the world of electric vehicles (EVs), has introduced the all-new S1X electric scooter series. The company”s founder and CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, revealed the exciting lineup at a customer event held at the Ola Future Factory located in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. The S1X series makes a compelling case for transitioning from conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to sustainable and eco-friendly electric alternatives.
Diversified Choices for Every Commuter
The S1X series comprises three distinct variants: the S1X with a 2kWh battery, the S1X with a 3kWh battery, and the S1X+ also equipped with a 3kWh battery, boasting enhanced connected features. Aggarwal shared these details with enthusiasm, emphasizing Ola Electric”s dedication to providing choices that cater to varying preferences and requirements. The introductory price for the S1X variant with a 2kWh battery is set at Rs 79,999 for the initial week, after which it will be priced at Rs 89,999. Meanwhile, the S1X variant featuring a 3kWh battery debuts with an introductory price of Rs 89,999 for the first week, with a subsequent tag of Rs 99,999. The S1X+, loaded with advanced connectivity options, enters the market at an introductory price of Rs 99,999 for the initial week, transitioning to a price of Rs 1,09,999 thereafter.
Immediate Bookings and Upcoming Deliveries
Ola Electric is quick to accommodate the eager interest of potential customers. Bookings for all three S1X variants have opened promptly, with deliveries scheduled to commence by December. Aggarwal assured that the entry-level S1X model is tailored for daily commutes ranging from 10 to 20 kilometres, aligning with the needs of urban commuters seeking sustainable mobility solutions.
Performance and Features
The S1X models are distinguished by their software and connectivity attributes. Boasting a remarkable range of 151 kilometres on a single charge, these electric scooters can attain a top speed of 90 km/hour. Aggarwal seized the opportunity to underscore the significance of this launch, deeming it the culmination of the era of ICE-powered scooters. He underscored the economic advantages of owning an electric scooter, highlighting the lower operational costs when compared to traditional ICE counterparts.
Expanding the Ola Electric Portfolio
In addition to the S1X series, Ola Electric also introduced the second-generation S1Pro, which is priced at Rs 1,47,499 (ex-showroom). While pre-orders are now open, deliveries are anticipated to commence by mid-September. With the introduction of these new scooters, Ola Electric”s portfolio has been enriched to encompass the S1X (2kWh), S1X, S1X+, S1Air, and S1 Pro, catering to a broad spectrum of consumer preferences and budgets.

The event also served as a platform for Ola Electric to showcase its remarkable lineup of electric motorcycles spanning cruiser, adventure, roadster, and super sports categories.
