Tata Motors launched the new Curvv.ev today, in the Indian market priced between INR 17.49 lakh and INR 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The ICE version set to launch on September 2nd. It has two battery options and promises impressive ranges, while the ICE variant comes with three engine choices. These versions prioritise design, customisation, and advanced features to appeal to a wide audience.
Curvv.ev comes with two battery pack configurations Curvv.ev 45, featuring a 40.5kWh battery pack for the base and mid-tier variants, and the Curvv.ev 55 with a 55kWh battery pack for the mid- and higher-end models. The 40.5kWh variant promises a MIDC-rated range of 502 kilometers, while the 55kWh model boasts a range of 585 kilometers on a single charge. Under the C75 testing standard, the 55kWh model achieves a range between 400 and 425 kilometers, and the 40.5kWh variant falls between 330 and 350 kilometers.
The ICE Curvv will feature three engine options with both manual and automatic transmission options. The newly unveiled 1.2-litre Turbo GDI engine, will produce 123 bhp and 225 Nm of torque, alongside the 1.2-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel.
With its high-raised stance and sloping roofline, the design offering a fresh visual appeal. It differs from its ICE counterparts with a closed-off grille, a nose-mounted charging port, and different alloy wheel designs with more than 60 accessories for further personalization of the vehicle’s exterior and interior. Curvv.ev is powered by a 167bhp electric motor driving the front wheels, covering 0-100 kph in 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 160 kmph.
Curvv has a 50:50 weight distribution, giving 190mm ground clearance, and a wading depth of 450mm.It supports rapid charging, in just 15 minutes using a 70 kW charger,” and a full charge from 10% to 80% can be completed within 40 minutes. The Curvv.ev also features vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities which is a unique feature.
Talking about the interiors, the Curvv.ev shares a similar layout with its petrol-powered version but stands out with a white and grey colour scheme. Key features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a touch-based climate control panel, a four-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters, and a rotary drive selector. The top-tier variant also includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a suite of amenities such as leatherette upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and a 9-speaker premium JBL sound system.
Tata cars are known for their safety features and this one is not an exception either. It comes equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control, driver drowsiness alert, blind-spot monitoring, and advanced driver assistance features along with audible alert for pedestrians at speeds below 20 kph. With a blend of aesthetics, technology, and practical features, the Curvv EV launch will definitely help to shape a curvaceous future for the kingmaker of the automobile industry.
