After the 2019 debut, Tata’s Harrier is to get a new launch with a facelift. It comes with a youthful style juxtaposed with a commanding majestic presence, thought to be the most refreshed and thorough update since the date of its launch – more features and a mod look. Tata calls it the ‘New Harrier.’ The new Harrier’s booking has begun.
The auto comes in variants of smart, pure fearless and adventure. It has a 170PS, 2-litre diesel engine with both manual and automatic transmissions. In the case of performance, Harrier it has a six-speed automatic transmission, dual paddle shifters and a bejewelled terrain mode. There is a 360-degree surround view with an assistance for parking in the front and rear with sensors.
The expected price range begins with Rs.15.20 lakh and the launch could be in November, said cardekho, a car search venture. The token amount for booking is Rs. 25,000 and is expected to be launched in November. Its leading features are the design changes in the front and rear, touch screen infotainment and digital display, its four bold variants and the 170PS, 2-litre diesel engine with both manual and automatic transmissions. The New harrier could pose a dynamic competition for Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector, and Jeep Compass. The website says, it has a “dynamic and fearless aura which demands a second look when cruising down the road.”
Technology adaption comes with a 31.24cm Harman touch screen wireless infotainment, 26.03 cm fully digital instrument cluster, JBL music system, Alexa including multiple voice assistance, IRA 2.0 technology connected, android and apple carplay which can be played over wifi, a smart e-shifter and an intelligent electronic parking break with an auto hold.
As for the safety measures, there are 7 built-in airbags, a eleven function driver assistance system, protection with advanced electronic stability program, an emergency assistance breakdown call and a monitoring system for the tyre pressure.
Starting with its features, which is flushed with too many, Harrier carries LED projector headlamps, giving more clarity in the dark; connected LED DRL’s which has Harrier’s own welcome and good-bye strategy, with turn indicators which would announce the arrivals with authority; front LED fog lamps, rugged roof rails; R 18 alloys with aero inserts to make a presence as the auto moves; its signature on its doors and a connected LED tail lamp. More key features include a panoramic sunroof with voice assistance and mood lighting, a redefining experience with dashboard also with mood lighting and a digital steering with an illuminated logo. There is a new gen central control panel and more excitingly, a persona themed interior.
The exterior comes in sunlit yellow, coral red, pebble grey, lunar white, oberon black, seaweed green and ash grey.
