Tata Motors holds a nearly 50% market share in India’s passenger electric vehicle industry, making it the clear market leader. This is largely because Tata was among the first mass-market companies to introduce an EV in India. This occurred in 2019 with the launch of the Tiago EV and Tigor EV.
With the introduction of the Comet EV by MG Motor India last year, the Tiago had long been the most reasonably priced electric vehicle in India. Another well-liked option for the fleet market is the battery-powered Tiago, which is currently priced at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, beginning).

Tata Motors has subtly updated the Tiago EV as 2024 draws to a close. Pristine White, Midnight Plum, Teal Blue, Daytona Grey, and Tropical Mist are the four new colour options available for the Tiago EV. The Tiago EV was formerly available in five different tints from Tata Motors, therefore the Midnight Plum shade is no longer available. Dealerships have been told that this colour choice is being removed with immediate effect. The Tiago EV combines affordability, updated features like a fast-charging port, and versatile range options, reinforcing Tata Motors’ dominance in the EV sector while appealing to both personal and fleet buyers.
An automated IRVM and a C-type fast charging connector were two new features added to the Tiago EV earlier this year. Other than these modifications, the Tiago EV is unaltered. Both a 19.2 kWh Medium Range battery pack and a 24 kWh Long Range battery pack are available for the Tiago EV. With a single charge, the former can go 250 km and provides power to a 45kW electric motor that generates 110 Nm of torque. A 55 kW electric motor that produces 114 Nm of torque is paired with the latter, which boasts a 315 km single-charge range.

The Tiago EV from Tata Motors, which offers affordability, modern features like a C-type fast charging connection, and flexible range options of 250 km and 315 km, solidifies the company’s position in the EV industry. It is still a popular option for both individual and fleet consumers, with a price tag of ₹7.99 lakh, demonstrating Tata’s dedication to affordable and effective electric mobility options.
