Toyota Innova EV Concept Showcased At The Indonesia International Motor Show
The updated Toyota Innova EV concept is on show at the Jakarta-based Indonesia International Motor Show. The 2022 edition of the event was the initial unveiling of the concept vehicle. However, Toyota has revealed some fresh information about its powertrain and made some design changes this time. A 59.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack powers the all-electric Innova, producing 179 horsepower and an incredible 700Nm of torque. Although the battery may be charged using both AC and DC systems, Toyota has not disclosed the maximum range of the Innova EV.
In terms of design, the 2025 version of the Innova EV concept differs slightly from the existing diesel-powered Innova Crysta. The iconic geometric headlights, which are now joined by a light strip and have new LED signatures, flank the almost closed-off grille region up front. The EV point is emphasized with thinner fog lights on the bumper and a blue accent on the Toyota emblem.
It has new 16-inch alloy wheels, a blacked-out roof and pillars, and side profile decals in shades of blue and grey. The MPV features blue borders and translucent, linked LED taillamps on the back, along with “BEV” badging on the boot lid.
The Innova EV’s cabin, in contrast to the exterior, is quite similar to the Innova Crysta. However, it has a flat floor beneath the battery pack, which gives the backseat passengers more space. Its cabin is distinguished by its electric blue accents surrounding the gauges, dual-tone upholstery, and absence of a gear lever. Large touchscreen screens, leather-wrapped steering wheels, computerized driver readouts, second-row captain chairs, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and more are examples of creature amenities.
The revamped Toyota Innova EV concept showcased at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2025 brings notable design and powertrain updates. With a 59.3kWh battery, 179hp, and 700Nm of torque, it promises strong performance, though Toyota remains silent on its range. The refreshed exterior features EV-specific styling cues, while the cabin offers modern comforts and enhanced space. Retaining its MPV practicality with a flat-floor design, the Innova EV highlights Toyota’s commitment to electrification, paving the way for a potential future production model.
