A US man recently grabbed headlines for purchasing a home he considers a dream-achieving moment despite the challenges associated with his decision. The property, a cliffside home 25 feet from eroding sand in front of the Atlantic Ocean, is predicted to be swept into the ocean in ten years. The whopping Rs 3 crore ($395,000) investment of the 59-year-old interior painter and designer on Cape Cod, near Eastham, is for many, an unwise choice.

However, for David Moot, the house at the location was a cherished dream, despite the warning, and he proceeded to buy the property, saying that he was content with enjoying it for as long as possible, admitting that the house may eventually fall into the ocean. “Life is too short; I just thought it; let’s see what happens,” media house Bloomberg quoted David Moot.

Cape Cod is one of many areas along the east coast of the US that is expecting the looming threat of erosion.

Due to the discount because of the threat, Moot could purchase his dream property at a considerable 67 percent discount for a property listed for $1.195 million in 2022. The house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a two-car garage, with a picturesque and serene location.
