A survey released by PwC Global found that more number of employees will be switching their jobs in the next 12 months compared to the “Great Resignation” period in 2022.
By taking a survey of about 56,000 employees, a consultancy known as “2024 Hopes and Fears” argues that 28 per cent of workers are likely to switch their jobs or change firms for better opportunities. In 2023, it was 26 per cent and in 2022 it was only 19 per cent.

Most of the employees who took part in that survey revealed that they would like to change employers in the next 12 months pondering on other opportunities and for a peaceful work atmosphere.
Additionally, 45 per cent of employees stated that their workload has increased in the last year and they wished to change their jobs due to this encumbrance. Meanwhile, 53 per cent averred that too many things are happening, thus change befalls all at once.
Apart from that, since the prevalence of generative AI, more than 80 per cent of the workers who use AI anticipates to flow off their workload in the coming year. The survey found that Gen AI will bring significant changes in the workplace.

As per the survey, at least one-third of the workers have experienced notable changes in the workforce including the mode of operation and professional responsibilities. People who have switched jobs or were relieved from their current jobs in 2022 known as “Great Resignation” on account of better opportunities. According to the data from the US Bureau of Labour Statistics (BLS) about 47 million people resigned from their jobs in 2021 and in 2022, the count went up to 50 million.
However, 60 per cent of workers are sure about their job security and a significant number reported that recent changes at the workplace put them in a place of extreme fear, anxiety depression and confusion, the PwC survey further added.
