An Australian billionaire is reportedly building a replica of the famous Titanic, which sank in the North Atlantic ocean during its maiden voyage in 1912. The world’s largest and most luxurious passenger ship of its time, Titanic started its journey on April 10, 1912, from Southampton with 2,240 passengers and crew on board. The vessel after hitting an iceberg, broke apart and then sunk deep, killing at least 1,500 onboard.
Notably, the mining billionaire, Clive Palmer’s Titanic replica Titanic II is all set to start the project in 2025. The 69-year-old Palmer, one of the world’s richest persons, had in 2012 planned his dream of building Titanic II. The work was then delayed due to several reasons. Vowing his determination to go on, Palmer in March this year said that his project is more real than ever before because, noting that he has gathered adequate resources for the work.

Interestingly, the project also strive to provide a 1900s life experience in the Titanic II voyage, with no internet and social media inside the ship. Also, the passengers would be encouraged to dress akin to 19th-century style, the billionaire said.
According to the report, the plan for the recreation of the replica of the 1912 vessel includes a famous grand staircase, a smoking room, theater, a casino and dining rooms for passengers of various classes.
Palmer’s company Blue Star Line has been entrusted with recreating the grandeurs of the Edwardian-era ship. A 3D rendering of the ship and its nine decks showed 835 cabins—383 for first class, 201 for second class and 251 for third-class rooms. Facilitation for around 2,345 passengers on board, giving similarities to the ships of Titanic time.

The upcoming Titanic would be “far far superior to the original” one, according to Palmer, adding that it would accommodate passengers around the world with luxury and style.
The journey will reportedly follow the original Titanic route – from Southampton, England to New York, and will be commenced by June 2027. Giving utmost importance to safety, the businessman said that there will be a safety deck and a whole series of Atlantic lifeboats. The ticket rate for the voyage has not been announced.
