He spoke openly about his lifelong health struggle and the unconditional support of his family. He also shared how his soon-to-be-wife Radhika Merchant stood alongside him during his struggle.

Anant Ambani bravely opened up about his health struggles and acknowledged the constant support of his family as he said  “I have faced many health crises since childhood but my father and mother have never let me feel it”.

The video of Mukesh Ambani in tears after hearing the speech was widely circulated on social media. His revelation shed light on the challenges he has faced.

His journey from obesity to becoming the epitome of fitness is a widely discussed topic now. In an interview given in 2017 to TOI, Nita Ambani explained that Anant “was highly asthmatic so we had to put him on a lot of steroids”. She then revealed that he suffers from obesity.

His treatment for asthma has resulted in weight gain. As per the report, he used to weigh around 208 kg. Anant became a whooping inspiration to many when he lost 108kg over a year and a half.

Nita Ambani shared that he had not undergone any kind of surgery but instead chose to follow a strict diet and workout routine to shed the extra kilos.

Anant’s weight loss journey included five hours of exercise, a 21-km walk, yoga, training, functional training, and high-intensity cardio exercises.

Steroids used in asthma treatment can lead to weight gain. Asthma is a chronic respiratory disorder that affects countless individuals. The symptoms are mainly trouble breathing, coughing, and wheezing. There is no ultimate cure for asthma but the symptoms can be managed by using various treatments, such as inhalers and steroids, reports the health site.

As per the experts, asthma symptoms may make it more difficult for a person to exercise or keep active. Similarly, taking steroids for a long term can make one feel more hungrier than usual which will lead to weight gain. The steroids can also lead to water retention causing weight gain.

Moreover, this drug can influence metabolism and trigger fat storage, especially around the belly area.
