X Introduces Cheaper Verified Organization Plans
Elon Musk”s X on Wednesday introduced a cheaper verified organization plan at USD 200 per month or USD 2,000 per year. In a tweet, X said that there is now a new basic subscription tier for businesses that want to get verified on the platform. The tweet adds that this tier is “designed for smaller businesses.”
“Our new Verified Organizations Basic tier is now available for $200/month or $2000/year! Designed for smaller businesses, subscribers receive ad credits and priority support to enable faster growth on X,” the tweet reads.
For Indian users, this new plan costs Rs 16,670 per month, or Rs 1,68,000 per year, which is a significant decrease from the earlier plan of Rs 82,300 per month. In another move, X has reinstated the headlines for article links, which the social media platform removed for aesthetic value purposes, according to a report by the Verge.
However, the new headlines appear to be much smaller in white as an overlay on the link”s picture. This is similar to the way X was displaying links until now. Each photo that contained a link showed the source website”s name on the bottom left, with the headline text being cut off in case it was too large to display.
Elon Musk has overhauled the social media platform ever since he took over it, changing its name to Twitter to X, introducing payment for individuals to earn a blue tick, which was provided free before, and a yellow tick for businesses, which is a whopping USD 12,000 a year.
The new decision has come when the X is grappling with ad revenue loss with the world”s leading companies boycotting the social media platform in protest against Elon Musk”s alleged anti-Semitic stance.
