The Australian Department of Home Affairs made a major announcement for the students seeking visa approval to study in Australian colleges. According to the official notice, the Letters of Offers from the student will no longer be accepted to process student visas.
The notice mentioned, “From 1 January 2025, the Department of Home Affairs will no longer accept Letters of Offer from individuals applying in Australia for a Student visa. Onshore applicants will be required to include a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) at the time of application”. However, there is no change to the alternative forms of evidence of the intended course of study for Foreign Affairs, Defence, or secondary exchange students.

Candidates who submit their applications on or after January 1, 2025, will have to submit a Confirmation of Enrolment at the time of application. However, Visa applications lodged before January 1, 2025 can use Letter of Offer.
As per the official information, in case of not providing the Enrollment at the time of admission will make the application invalid and visa cannot would not be accessed. Also, an associated Bridging visa cannot be granted where the substantive visa application is not valid.

According to the notice, the providing the CoE during visa application shows commitment by the student to study at that insitution.
Also, with effect from July 1, 2024, the Australian government has hiked the international student visa fee from AUD 710 to AUD 1,600.
