In a shocking development, BJP leader and Bihar deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Sinha today claimed that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav’s aide, Pritam Kumar, has a link in the alleged paper leaks and discrepancies in the NEET-UG 2024. After the NEET-UG 2024 results declared on June 4, there was an uproar, alleging discrepancies by students against the result.
In a press conference in Patna, the deputy chief minister alleged that Pritam Kumar, who served as Tejashwi Yadav’s personal secretary during his ministerial tenure, booked a room for Sikander Kumar Yadavendu, one of the arrested in the NEET-UG question paper leak incident.
Vijay Kumar Sinha stated that an aide of Tejashwi Yadav on May 4 contacted an employee of the Bihar road construction department to book a room for Sikander Kumar Yadavendu.
Sinha asked the RJD chief to clarify if Pritam Kumar was still his personal secretary, adding that he should also explain who is Sikander Kumar Yadavendu. “When Lalu Prasad Yadav was jailed in Ranchi, Sikander Kumar Yadavendu used to be at Lalu’s service…He was a junior engineer in the irrigation department,” he said.
Sinha further stated they (the alleged persons) play with the future of the people. “They do scams when they are in power and they try to influence the appointment process,” he said during the press conference.
The confession letter revealed today by Sikander Kumar Yadavendu a junior engineer employed by the Danapur Nagar Parishad in Bihar, had intensified the ongoing furry around the NEET-UG 2024. Notably, in the confession, the aspirant reportedly admitted to facilitating the accommodation of four NEET candidates and one of the relatives in Patna. The rough bill book of the guest house mentioned a ‘Mantri Ji’ who arranged the stay for Yadav. The BJP leader noted that the word ‘mantri ji’ was used by Pritam Kumar who was personal secretary to Tejashwi Yadav when he was minister in the previous government.
All the accused arrested by The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police have so far belonged to the state, and some of the accused have admitted that Sikander Yadav assured them of success while demanding Rs 40 lakh in return for the examination paper.
