With the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations for classes 10 and 12 scheduled to commence tomorrow, the Board has issued a comprehensive advisory addressing concerns to the ongoing farmers” protest in Delhi. Anticipating potential traffic disruptions and delays due to the protest, the CBSE has urged students and parents to plan their commute meticulously to ensure timely arrival at examination centers.
In a statement released by the CBSE, it was disclosed that over 39 lakh students from India and 26 countries abroad are set to appear for the examinations. In Delhi alone, 5,80,192 students from 877 examination centers are expected to participate. Given the expected traffic congestion in the capital, students have been instructed to reach their examination centers by 10:00 am, ahead of the 10:30 am start time.
The advisory specifically recommends the use of Metro services, which are reportedly operating smoothly, to facilitate timely arrival. Furthermore, all students have been reminded that entry into the examination centers will not be permitted after 10:00 am, emphasising the importance of punctuality.
Acknowledging the crucial role of schools in guiding students and parents, the CBSE has called upon educational institutions to assist in ensuring compliance with the advisory. Students are advised to visit their examination centers in advance and devise a travel plan to avoid any last-minute complications.
