CBSE Issues Advisory Against Rumours And Fake News About Board Exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued a warning against rumours and fake information spread by unscrupulous elements concerning board exams.

The CBSE board exams for Class 10th and 12th are starting from Thursday, February 15 and the board informed about the elaborate arrangements for the smooth and fair conduct of the examination. The public alert warned against the rumours spread via social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, X, and Telegram, similar to the past.

Miscreants circulate the fake links of sample papers, and claim to have access to question papers of exams to fleece the gullible students and parents by demanding money in return. The board informed about its vigilance and activeness to identify and take strict actions against those who are found guilty.

CBSE informed about the help of law enforcement agencies to take stern actions under the IPC and IT act against miscreants and students involved in unfair means. Therefore, CBSE alerted against such unverified news and rumours during the exams and asked to inform the board if any such news came.

The board advised students and parents not to fall for any fake news or rumours circulating on social media concerning paper leaks or sample papers claiming that paper will be asked from the questions given in the sample.

According to the information available CBSE initiated action against 30 such social media handles creating misinformation among students regarding board exams. Identifying them as suspicious CBSE asked students to unfollow these platforms and advised them to follow only official handle such as @cbseindia29 on ‘X’. The board informed further that it will not be responsible for any mischief through any such sources.
