CBSE Class 12 English Paper Analysis: Subject-Experts Find Questions "Easy And Simple"

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 12 English board exam today (March 11, 2025.) The question paper had 13 questions divided into three sections: Section A (Reading Skills), Section B (Creative Writing Skills), and Section C (Literature).

As per the feedback from experts, overall question paper was easy and simple, and the students can easily comprehend the questions, and those who have studied the lessons well can easily do the exams.

Timeline Spoke to Dr. Neetu Kapoor, Principal of Army Public School; Malathi Srininivasan, the Head of Department, English; Renu Sing Dabbas, Shivani Singh and Nidhi Sharma, who opined that a well prepared student can easily score well as questions are as per sample paper pattern.

The subject-experts shared their insights on the examination paper including the difficulty level. Most of the experts have described the paper easy and simple, and the writing section topics are all well familiar to children, according to them.

“Average students can easily attempt the paper as the questions are catering to all categories. Most of the questions are on expected lines and hence facilitate all levels of students to score well,” the experts observed.

The teachers also expressed their confidence in the students, saying that students will come out with a sense of satisfaction as English paper will really give them a moral boost, and a sense of relief and happiness. “There were no out of syllabus questions,” they added.

Referring to the Higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), which analyze the cognitive processes involving complex thinking, the experts said that the HOTS can be easily handled by children with the cues given.

The CBSE conducted the class 12 English exam today, and the three-hour test was held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. All questions in class 12 are compulsory, and the exam carries a total of 80 marks.
