CBSE has successfully conducted the 17th edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on 20 August at 3121 test centres in 136 cities all over India. A total number of 29,03,903 aspirants registered, only around 80% reported for the test.

CBSE deployed 141 City Coordinators, 3121 Center Superintendents, 3506 Observers and 599 CBSE officials/employees for conducting the examinations smoothly. CTET exam consist of two papers – paper 1 is to test teaching eligibility for classes 1-5, and paper 2 is to test teaching eligibility for classes 6-8. 15,01,719 aspirants had registered for Paper 1 and 14, 02,184 aspirants had registered for Paper 2. Candidates can apply for both papers or single paper, provided they satisfy the required qualification. Candidates are also allowed to choose any two languages from the 20 languages prescribed.

As in the previous years, the certificates can be downloaded from DigiLocker as a part of Green Initiative. The board would create accounts for all the candidates who have appeared and further, the details would be sent on their registered mobile numbers. The certificates would have an encrypted QR code for security purposes. As per the IT act, these certificates have legal validity. Through technology incorporation, the board also aims at environmental protection, saving valuable resources like money, paper, trees and water and further, this adds to reduced carbon emissions.
