Video of the principal of Laxmibai College, Delhi University, Pratyush Vatsala is shared on X, while she is plastering cow-dung on classroom walls. The college principle could be seen in putting cow-dung (cow shit) plaster on the college classroom walls using her hand while another staff member accomained her holding cow dung tray. She used the classroom banch to do the layering on walls.

One of her teachers of Delhi University also shared the video and raised concerns over impact of such gestures on students and also raised question on the hiring process of the university. Vijender Chauhan, a faculty at Zakir Hussain College, Delhi University shared it on X.

Reportedly, the principal used cow dung to maintain and cool down the room temperature in the scorching Delhi’s heat, claiming it a traditional Indian method for heat stress control. While students complaints about the basic infrastructure such as broken window and unhygenic washrooms.

The act, reportedly, is part of a research project titled “Study of Heat Stress Control by Using Traditional Indian Knowledge”, has sparked debate, with students and social media users questioning in modern academic environment.

Whereas, netizens suggested to use other means to maintain the classroom temperature instead of using the cow dung on the classroom walls.
