Delhi University To Introduces Course on Science of Happiness

The University of Delhi has signed an MoU with Rekhi Foundation for Happiness to offer the Course on ‘Science of Happiness’. As per an official information from the upcoming academic session, Delhi University plans to introduce a course on the “Science of Happiness” in the curriculum of its various programs offered in five women”s colleges and varsity departments.

Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Gargi College, Indraprastha Women”s College, Miranda House, and Daulat Ram College are the five women”s colleges where the curriculum will be implemented initially.

The official declaration stated that the foundation will create and disseminate the course content. This curriculum may be altered by Delhi University to accommodate changing student demands and credit requirements. The colleges can make the required preparations to deliver the course on the Science of Happiness once the curriculum is finalized.

The course might be made available as an elective at first and may eventually turn it into a major or minor subject, informs the official statement.

Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh describing the importance of happiness and need to emphasise on it by promoting it as a part of curriculum said, “Happiness is most important in life. Understanding the idea and need of science of happiness, DU has decided to include the course on Science of Happiness in the curriculum of the programmes running in its departments and colleges,”

Theoretically, the Science of Happiness focuses on a key discovery in positive psychology: that happiness is closely associated with having close social connections and making a positive impact on the larger good.

As per the analysts, Delhi University”s launch of course on the Science of Happiness is a step in the right direction towards encouraging mental health. This program is an attempt to give students pleasure top priority in their lives.

Satinder Singh Rekhi and his spouse Harpreet Rekhi have been managing the non-profit Rekhi Foundation for Happiness since 2016.
