'Direct Questions As Per Prescribed Syllabus': CBSE Class XII Fashion Studies Paper Expert Analysis

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted Class XII Fashion Studies exam today, February 20. The Class XII Fashion Studies question paper analysis is now out, with experts opining that the paper was well-structured and of moderate difficulty. Overall, the quality of the question paper was good and effective in assessing students’ understanding, as per the experts.

Observing the paper, Shalu Srivastava, trainer at Lotus Valley International School, Noida Extension, said that most questions were direct and based on the prescribed syllabus, making the paper student-friendly.

“All major units such as fashion concepts, textiles, garment construction, and pattern making were adequately covered, showing good alignment with the CBSE blueprint,” Srivastava claimed, an average student who generally scores between 60–70% during the academic year, is expected to score around 50–60 marks out of 80.

While some long-answer questions required detailed explanations and careful time management, she further observed, the objective and short-answer questions were easier.

“When compared to previous years, the paper was similar in terms of length, question pattern, and conceptual depth. There were no major surprises or deviations from the standard CBSE format, though a few questions were slightly lengthy,” the expert stated, highlighting that most students reacted positively and appeared satisfied after the examination.
