Father Kills 17-Year-Old Daughter Over Low Marks In NEET Mock Test; Sparks Debate
In a despairing incident from Sangli, a father took the life of his 17-year-old daughter, studying in class 12th, in a fit of anger and rage. Sadhna Bhosale, a brilliant student who secured 92% marks in Class X board exams, wanted to be a doctor and was preparing for the NEET medical exam.
Reportedly, Sadhna’s father, Dhondiba Bhosale, a school principal, subjected her to frequent physical and emotional abuse over her studies.
Her mother filed a complaint against her husband, Dhondiba Bhonsle, at Nelkaranji village in the Atpadi police station. Sadhna scored relatively low marks in the NEET mock test, which enraged her father, who reportedly said, “These marks are too low, that subject is weak, if you don’t get selected, just wait and see”.

While he was shouting at her, Sadhna replied, “Bas karo papa. Aapke bhi to kam number aaye the. Aap kaun sa collector ban gaye?”. Hearing this, Dhondiba grabbed the wooden handle of a stone grinder and attacked Sadhna in front of her mother and brother, till she collapsed.
As per the police reports, her father did not admit her to the hospital even after her serious condition. She was brought to the hospital after falling unconscious and was later declared dead at the hospital.
The death of the NEET aspirants over low marks in the mock test sparks debate online, where netizens are questioning the parental pressure on their children to respect in society and secure their future.
Sadhana Bhosale’s death is a result of violent parenting, academic obsession, and societal failure. It is a brutal outcome of a system where marks matter more than mental health. Parents must raise children with love, not fear—support them, listen to them, protect them..… pic.twitter.com/Ab2cdCJeop

Dreamt of becoming a doctor.
Took one stand for herself.
Her father killed her.
Not NEET pressure.
Parent pressure.
