Financial Times (FT) Global MBA Ranking 2024: 3 Indian B Schools Ranks Under 50

Financial Times (FT) released its Global MBA Ranking 2024 which recognises the quality and standard of MBA programmes worldwide. In the recently released ranking three Indian Business schools secured ranks under the top 50 B-Schools.

According to the FT release, the Indian School of Business (ISB) secured the 31st spot globally followed by the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) among Indian business schools. ISB”s ranking has risen from its 39th last year. In research, ISB is topped among Indian institutes securing the global position of 52 this year climbing up from 61 last year.

IIMA secured 41st rank globally which is followed by IIM Bangalore at 47 and IIM Calcutta at 67, and IIM Lucknow at 85. XLRI-Xavier School of Management successfully claimed the 99th rank. However, IIM Lucknow secured 85th position globally but it climbed significantly up by five ranks from the previous year’s ranking.

Internationally, the top position is secured by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania followed by INSEAD, France, which got second rank. The third spot is jointly shared by Columbia Business School and Italy’s SDA Bocconi School of Management. Spain’s IESE Business School secured the fifth position.

Last year also 6 institutes secured places in the list, however, this time XLRI made progress to be included in the top 100. IIM Indore last year secured 89 positions but could not be ranked among the top 100 this time.

The Financial Times MBA Rankings are widely acknowledged as a benchmark for assessing the caliber and impact of MBA programs across the globe.  The FT ranking features the world’s top 100 full-time MBA Programmes.

The ranking is derived from 21 criteria with 8 criteria calculated from Alumni responses, 12 criteria calculated from school data, and the remaining one from the research rank.
