Jamia Millia Alumnus Plays Key Role In Chandrayan- 3 Mission

A Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) alumnus played a key role in the historical Chandrayan 3 mission of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Mohammad Adnan, who has been working with the space agency since 2008, is currently a Scientist ‘F’ at ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC).

India’s pursuit of space exploration reached a remarkable milestone with the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 mission on the lunar surface on August 23.

Adnan is associated with ISRO for the last 15 years and was also a part of the team of Chandrayan-2 and Mission Mars (MOM). Belonging to Darbhanga , Bihar, Adnan completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science in the year 2007 and Diploma in Computer Science Engineering in the year 2003 from JMI.

Elated over the development, JMI Vice Chancellor Prof Najma said: “I am happy to know that our students are doing so well in this field. This has added to our joy. I congratulate Adnan for the important role he has played in the mission. This will definitely motivate our students to work hard to contribute in nation building”.

Three more alumni of the university — Amit Kumar Bhardwaj, Mohd. Kashif and Areeb Ahmad — were also part of the historical Chandrayaan-3 of the ISRO.
