Muskan Agrawal, India's "'Top Woman Coder" Secures Rs 60 Lakh Job Offer From LinkedIn

A BTech graduate named Muskan Agrawal bagged an annual salary package of Rs 60 lakh from LinkedIn, a professional network platform. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh”s Hathras, Ms Agrawal has completed her BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Una. Agrawal”s salary package sets a new milestone, since it is the highest-ever salary package received by a student of her institute.

Last year, she won the the title of the “top woman coder” and received a prize of Rs 1.5 lakh by participating in the TechGig Geek Goddess competition. Held annually, Geek Goddess is the India”s biggest coding competition, conducted only for women. In this competition, Ms Agrawal won by defeating more the 69,000 women coders.

She was not new to coding, and have been learning it for years. In 2021, while working for non-profit-project tech community called Girlscript Foundation she associated with various open-source projects. She is also among among the top 40 women chosen for LinkedIn”s mentorship programme. Besides, Ms Agrawal also interned with TechCurators, and created data structures and algorithm problems for coding platforms like Hacker Earth, Test Gorilla, and Mettl.

Aside from all this, she secured recognition as a Harvard WECode Scholar in 2022, by participating in the world”s largest student-run tech conference, WECode, organised by undergraduate women at Harvard University.

Another trainee from IIIT-Una grabbed an annual package of ₹ 47 lakhs in the last year. As per the India Today reports, nearly 86% of the 2019-23 batch trainees in the Institute found placements in around 31 different companies.

Muskan”s success is remarkable since it boosts confidence to all aspiring women coders and also to  students that they can secure top job offers even if they do not belong to top Business schools.
