Kumaresh Pattabiraman emphasised that LinkedIn has evolved from a job platform to a dynamic global community for jobs, learning, networking, and knowledge sharing. India boasts the top five countries with the fastest-growing AI talent and the highest AI skill penetration globally, he added. He also highlighted that the platform launched a new video experience in India capitalizing on the 60% year-over-year growth in video uploads. The platform also claimed that LinkedIn members in India use AI skills three times more frequently than the global average.

On the other hand, It’s been discussed that LinkedIn owned by Microsoft is using ‘user data’ to enhance its generative AI products without updating its terms of service. The LinkedIn platform also confirmed using user data for AI improvement and this move has raised concerns about data privacy and user consent.

LinkedIn’s use of user data for AI training includes various types of information, such as user-generated content, language preferences, feedback on AI features, and interaction with AI tools. For instance, if you use AI to help you write something, it’ll look at what you type and the suggestions it gives you. Additionally, LinkedIn keeps track of how users use these AI features.
