NEET PG 2025 Aspirants Urge Internship Extension Over Eligibility Concerns
The United Doctors Front (UDF) has requested the Minister of Health & Family Welfare to extend the internship completion cutoff date for MPMSU students to August 31, 2025, due to the delay in result declaration. The UDF has submitted a request on behalf of the students of the 2019 MBBS batch of Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU), Jabalpur.
The letter cited the extension of the intership deadline considering the eligibility criteria for NEET PG 2025, which may adversely impact numerous students due to administrative delays beyond their control.

Notably, the results of the MBBS Final Part-II examination, June 2024, were declared only on August 16, 2024, and the internship for affected students began on August 19, 2024, or later in some affiliated colleges.

This administrative delay will result in the completion of the mandatory 12-month internship period after the current NEET PG 2025 eligibility cutoff date of July 2025, thereby making a large number of otherwise eligible and meritorious students ineligible to appear for the examination.
On behalf of the affected candidates, considering the recent rescheduling of NEET PG 2025, UDF requested the National Medical Commission to consider extension of the internship completion cutoff date to August 31. 2025.
The extension will ensure and fair and equitable opportunity to compete in NEET PG 2025, the UDF said.
The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has already announced the revised schedule for NEET PG 2025 and confirmed that the exam will be held on August 3, 2025. The decision follows the Supreme Court’s directive to conduct the exam in a single shift format. Earlier, the NEET PG 2025 exam was to be held on June 15, 2025, in a two-shift format.
