NEET UG 2024 Counselling Likely To Be Delayed: Report

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 counselling is reportedly, expected to be delayed. As per the report published in Education Times, the counseling schedule has not been finalized yet and the procedure might not start on the earlier scheduled date on July 6, 2024.

According to the report, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) expects to defer the counseling date from the first week of July to for few additional days. However, no official confirmation came about the same, it says.

Regarding the NEET counseling schedule, candidates must check the MCC official website – mcc.nic.in regularly. The NEET UG counseling process involves multiple rounds including registration, choice of filling and locking the preferences, seat allocation, and final reporting to the allocated college.

Candidates who have qualified for the NEET UG 2024 exam are eligible to participate in the counseling process. Those candidate who secure a minimum percentile score become eligible for this stage. A candidate has to maintain documents including NEET UG 2024 scorecard, Class XII sheet and certificate, character certificate, migration certificate, reservation certificate, passport size photographs, and Photo ID proof.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decalred the NEET UG 2024 re-exam result, held for 1,563 candidates. Only an 813 candidates appeared for the exam. The exam was conducted at seven cetres located in Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana and Meghalaya.

Notably, none of the 813 candidates secured full marks in the exam and number of toppers have also reduced from its earlier 67 to 61, as per the official information. As per the reports, 5 out of 6 NEET toppers who secured 720 marks appeared for the retest.
