Supreme Court NEET PG 2025 2-Shift Exam Hearing On May 22

Aspirants await whether the NEET PG 2025 entrance examination will be postponed or not when the Supreme Court hears the matter on May 22, 2025. Earlier, the Supreme Court was to hear it on May 20; however, it has been deferred after the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025 hearing took more than 3 hours and 30 minutes on Monday.

The Supreme Court will hear the petition filed by the United Doctors’ Front (UDF) and a group of doctors against the two-shift exam and the normalisation process.

As per the petitioners, the 2-shift NEET PG 2025 exam involves two different papers, two different marking scales, which set different standards for aspirants to clear the exam. Also, the normalization process which AIIMS adopts for the equalization of marks has been used by NTA for NEET PG exam.

The petitioner mentions the difference in score cards and marks expected and obtained by the candidates. Also, there is a lack of redressal of the above, and unfettered power has been given to the authority to hold the examination without checks and balances.

If, Supreme Court finds the normalisation process non-transparent and the 2-shift examination process arbitrary and unjust, the NEET PG 2025 exam is likely to be postponed. As of now, the NEET PG 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on June 15, 2025.

Also, in a similar direction, NEET PG aspirants have initiated independent campaigns to address the issue by citing the pending cases before the Supreme Court as the year 2024 NEET PG case is still hovering over in the higest court, even after the counselling had finished and the session got started.
