BJP's Navin Jaiswal Leads In Hatia Constituency, Congress' Ajay Nath Shahdeo Trails.

In the ongoing Jharkhand Assembly election vote counting, Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Navin Jaiswal is currently leading in the Hatia constituency with 85,685 votes. Indian National Congress (INC) Ajay Nath Shahdeo is trailing behind with 78,833 votes. Jaiswal is ahead by 6,852 votes.

Navin Jaiswal is a member of the Legislative Assembly of Jharkhand state, India, and represents the Hatia Assembly seat as its MLA. He was a member of the All Jharkhand Students Union and later joined the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) in November 2014. In February 2015, Jaiswal joined the BJP along with five other MLAs.

In the 2014 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Navin Jaiswal, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) won the Hatia seat by defeating Seema Sharma of the BJP by a margin of 8,018 votes. In the 2009 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Gopal S N Shahdeo of the INC won the Hatia seat by defeating Ram Ji Lal Sharda of the BJP by a margin of just 25 votes.

The Hatia constituency is one of the 81 Assembly constituencies in Jharkhand. It is located in the Ranchi district and is classified as a semi-urban seat. The constituency is part of the Ranchi Lok Sabha seat.

The counting of votes for the Jharkhand Assembly elections took place today November 23, 2024. The main battle is between the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led INDIA alliance and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for 81 seats altogether.

The main players are the JMM, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren contesting 41 seats. Key candidates include Hemant Soren, seeking re-election from Barhait against BJP’s Gamaliyan Hembrom, his wife Kalpana Soren from Gandey and his brother Basant Soren from Dumka.
